People who train as career mentors with Career Care are are linked up with mentees on terms that suit them. Some mentors take on a new mentee every week or fortnight while others prefer to deal with one person at a time and give them undivided attention.
Mentees are normally routed to a mentor from the same partner organisation (such as a Citizens Information Centre) but some mentors prefer to deal with people with specific skill set (such as computer programmers. Either option can be accommodated.
Once a mentor is introduced to a mentee, she/he takes charge of that relationship and decides how often both parties should meet and what support should be provided. Of course, advice on all such matters can be access from fellow mentors through the mentor peer support framework.
